Week 5: House Management & Run Crew

This week, most of our team was out for the holiday, but we still made progress on a few fronts. With the room coming up this week, we've been working on putting the finishing touches on our part.

First, we joined up with the Writing Team to work on writing and filming the video for the coded word puzzle. When we initially met with them on Monday, the script they had prepared was a little too long for the nature of the puzzle. We needed something that was clear and concise, and wouldn't waste too much time if the players had to listen to it multiple times. So Matt and I helped them come up with a quick revision that would make it much shorter.

Second, we made revisions to the signs based on some of the feedback that we received and sent the final signs over to marketing for printing. We took an approach that used fewer memetic images and focused more on general, all-purpose text-based signs. Several contained phrases such as "I like holding signs" that are usable in the event of success or failure.

Next, we worked on a brief outline of a reset list, found here, which contains a lot of the primary tasks we identified after our first walkthrough of the room. We expect this list to grow and evolve over the course of the week, as we learn more of our duties as Run Crew.

Finally, we got the lab coats this week, as well as the gloves and goggles! I'll be sure to update this blog post with a picture of the full costume once Matt and I get together for the dress rehearsal.
