WEEK 5: SOFTWARE & ELECTRONICS
The main task of our group this week
1. Install the cameras.
2. Test the OBS system.
3. Complete the EXIT sign.
4. The digital game.
1. About installing the cameras:
According to the request of the Escape Room, we bought the cameras with night vision function. And initially, we thought we could install the cameras last week, but after testing the new cameras last Thursday, we found that they didn’t work in a dark environment. Since Tianze (one of our group members) thought it was his responsibility to give the wrong link, he paid for two-night vision cameras to make up for the mistake.
We went back to the room on Tuesday, this time all the cameras worked very well. So we began to adjust the camera placement angles. In order to make all corners, especially those containing puzzles, visible, we tried many different positions. Finally, we identified the following four corners.

The explanation of the placement:
Night vision A (One camera with night vision function)
In the dark state, people will stand in front of the mirror and look at the riddle through the mirror. So this camera must be able to see the persons in front of the mirror. This camera will be installed on the ceiling; professor Agent said she would use some special material to set up it.

Night vision B (Another camera with night vision function)
When setting up the night vision camera in this room, we were once in chaos. Because the night vision camera does not have a wide visual range, and we could not decide whether it is more important to look at people or puzzles. At first, we thought that if running crew couldn’t see a puzzle that would be shown on the wall, they couldn’t determine which step the players were taking in the dark environment. But the building team believed that it is more important to care whether the players destroy other puzzles in a dark environment. However, in the end, we decided to let the camera be in the position shown in the current figure, which can completely display the puzzle on the wall and a part of the two-room passage. Since first, people will in another room in the dark state. Second, the dark time is relatively short, and even if some people want to come to this room, they will not go out of the visual range in such a short time. This camera will be installed on the wall, and we have already marked the wall.

Normal camera A & B:
These two cameras have a wide visual range, so it is good to set them in the corner of the room, like the picture shows above. The wires of the two cameras have been connected on the ceiling. And these two cameras can already be used.
2. About the OBS system
We had already tested the OBS system. However, we still have some problems with the operation. So Joe took two cameras home to test the system.
3. About the EXIT sign
This week we complete the two EXIT sign.
