Week 1 - Marketing and Ticketing
Escape Room (Title: Undecided)
October 28, 2019
Today the class was divided into multiple groups. The marketing group consists of Jiaming, Zhengfan,
Claire, Haichen, and Varun. We met immediately after and talked over what we wanted to do.
It was soon decided and agreed that we would be creating a system that future escape room builders
could use. We will create social media handles as well as a reservation system that students who
take this class can also use next year, or the year after that. We also decided to come
up with ideas on how to divide the work by October 31, 2019 (Thursday)

October 31, 2019
Today we had a mini impromptu presentation of whatever the groups had achieved in the span of 3 days.
Our group displayed the social media handles that were set up as well as the goal of setting up
a proper website/reservation system. Some concerns regarding the pricing of the domains as well
as the methodology of reservation (whether to keep a timed-out booking system or to sell the
booking upon lateness/no-shows). It was ultimately decided that we would create a system
where a person had to pay $10 if they paid within 2 days of their booking versus $15 if paid on-desk.
Later, the marketing team met up and divided the website pages/systems. (Homepage,
About Us, Contact Us, FAQ, Database Management) The teams would collaborate and design
using tools such as Trello and Figma by Sunday, this week and then discuss on how things
should proceed over Slack. The idea is for everyone to come up with their ideas for the
pages after which they can be edited/changed as necessary. These pages would then
be presented to the class on Thursday (November 7, 2019) for feedback/critique.
