WEEK 3: SET DESIGN AND BUILD TEAM-WALLS COMPLETED AND REPAIRING & PUZZLE MAKING (PART 2)

We already finish four sudoku puzzles' pieces. We separate it into four parts. One of them can be found directly. The other three need to be found after solving other puzzles.

This is the puzzle “Laser”. We are almost done with this puzzle. We created our own framework and slideway for the glass cube on the cardboard. There are four glass cubes, three of them can be moved and the other one is fixed. We stick a magnet on each moveable cube. Then we will put a glass pane on the four holders. Players need to use a magnet to move those cubes to guide the leaser to the other corner. 

We still need to do some optimize on this puzzle. Cause we can’t use plastic to make this puzzle, the great friction of the cardboard may cause those cubes to get stuck. I think after we polish our cardboard, this problem can be solved. 

The solution of “Laser” also provides inspiration for the sliding puzzle. We will create a sliding puzzle in a cardboard box(around 15inch * 12inch), then inlay magnet into each tile. We will use a glass pane to cover the sliding part again, players need to use a magnet to move the tile. We bought a fart machine from amazon(on the way), we will inlay the launch button into the target tile, and we will leave a hole in the glass pane. Players need to move the target tile under this hole, and they can use the button to trigger the fart, then the running crew can know they finish this puzzle, and go to liberate them.

We will finish the sliding puzzle’s framework on Tuesday(11.27), Case we need to wait for the fart machine, which will be delivered to us on Tuesday.

This is puzzles “Scytales”. Players need to find a hidden message from this page to open a directional lock. 

Because the directional lock can only support a four-direction combination, we change the original design. We use the curve to hint the right direction to write the letter from the message. Write the letter from the message “REHTFGTDORHTIWNGL” in the guide by the curve, we can get the right answer.

Case the directional lock may cause some confusion to people who don't know how to use it, we need a tutorial of it. We put the tutorial into this page in order to make it more integrated into the whole room.
