WEEK 3 - Marketing and Ticketing

Accomplished this week:
In this week, our marketing group pushed the website to the server and connected with our domain name, finished the design of tickets, fixed the prototype of the websites and set the schedule for offline tickets sales.

Varun has finished the first test version of our website. The website can be visited through the localhost as well as the cloud server. Users can book tickets by filling up their personal information including the name, contact number and email address. They can choose the available timeslot and submit the booking information. Besides of booking for oneself, the users can also book for a team (2 to 6 people) by adding more members on the website. Similarly, we need the personal information of all team members to complete the team's booking. When a time period has been reserved by 6 people, the user will no longer be able to reserve the game for that time period. The figure below shows the test version of booking webpage.

It is a stack of html, css, php, js, jquery and mysql (for the database) hosted on a domain bought from hostinger. The database and hosting is through 000webhost and the security is through cloudflare.

Jiaming designed the tickets for the escape room and the banner for the website.

The background of the ticket is black, and red and white are used as the main color. The front side of the ticket sets the name of the escape game. Elements that meet the theme of the escape game are designed and combined on the ticket. The player can fill in the name and the time they joined on the back side of the ticket. This is the certificate for players to participate in the game, and it also provides convenience for the running crews. The design style of the banner is consistent with tickets, social media, etc., using the same theme color and design elements.

Claire, Haichen and ZFan fixed the prototype of the website. Contents are added sizes of pictures to make them look better on the website.  Haichen added the story (from writing team) to the home page. Claire change the design of “About us” page and the footer of the website. The group descriptions (from writing team) and the picture are added and arranged on the page. “Contact us” page is deleted and the contact info are arrange in the footer. Besides, the frequent asked questions are added to the footer for users to find the information that they may concern and curious about quicker.

ZFan proposed some idea and did some sketches about the logo. Mainly used maze, lock, fingerprint and other elements to match the theme of the room escape. Varun also proposed some thoughts about logo.

Besides, we planned to set table on campus and sale tickets offline from Dec.2(Monday) to Dec.5(Thursday).

Future work:
In the following week we will first complete the design of the logo. And then further optimize the design of the web page, test and modify some bugs in the booking system. In addition, web page elements such as scheduled web pages and system alerts will be designed.
