Week 4: Marketing and Ticketing

Accomplished this week:
In this week, our group focus on optimizing the website design and actualize all the marketing materials(poster, logo, and tickets) for next week’s escape room game event.

Haichen and Claire took advises from the class presentation audiences and make some change on the website’s design. For example, they changed the home page head to an “available time slot” and put the picture about the whole class into the team introduction page. Varun updating the new version of the ticketing website. Zhengfan uploaded two interactive pages. We decided to use those pages to notify users on whether the participant’s reservation has been received. Also, Varun is improving the database structure to avoid some wrong information be input into the system, the website with new data system will be release this week. Here are the screenshots of this week’s web design:




Jiaming has decided the Logo and ticket design which was showed on last week’s presentation. He used the broken cage as the mean element for the loge. To make the logo more recognizable and fit to the theme of the escape room, he put the word “escape” into the broken cage rail, this design won a great feedback from project participants. For the ticket design, Jiaming put the logo, project name, and game name on the left side ticket. On the right side, it will be a personnel license for each game participant that include space for draw picture, participant's name, and time slot selection for each participant so they will not forget their reservation. Each ticket will be two business cards size (19cm* 6cm). In the class, Jiaming showed 3 different designs of the ticket, but the black and yellow colorway got the best feedback, so we decide to use that one.




Since the escape room event is getting closer, Zhengfan went to printing center and get some ticket samples. The price for getting all materials (tickets and posters) be printed is around 12 dollars.



We also used the logo to create some gif. files and post on the social medias(Twitter. Facebook events, and Instagram). 




We have booked tables for ticket selling from Dec 2nd to Dec 5th. We have one day inside table in the campus center and 4 days outdoor table in campus. We will sell ticket from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm everyday.


Future work:
In this week, we will get some new materials from writing group, we will upload some video and pictures on the website to make it looks better. We also asking for some volunteers for table sitting and ticket selling with us due to our team can’t fill all the schedule on the 5 days selling activity.
