WEEK 2 – SET DESIGN AND BUILD TEAM
WEEK 2 – SET DESIGN AND BUILD TEAM
Last week, we were trying to figure out the flowchart with the software team. On the first version, we focused on the time players would spend over these puzzles and tried to make a flowchart that can cover as many puzzles as possible. Since we divided the lounge into two rooms, we expected these two rooms will cost the same time so the players will feel it balanced. But we still used a linear way to deal with it and didn’t consider the story outline.
So we made the second version to meet the story and flattened the flowchart to add more puzzles in the escape room. The first room the players enter will be the container and the second room will be the lab. We reorganized the flowchart to make the puzzles appearing in each room not being too wired. Also, we tried to come up with a possible story outline, in which we have a SCP item that will make the people around it become crazy in love with it. So those people will try to keep it themselves and consider the other people will take it away from them. The doctors made the lab and the container to observe its power by sending a D-class person inside living with it. But the power of it is too strong and attracts all the people in the lab as well. So the D-class person find a lock and put it on the door. And due to its power, all the people disappear.
As we have checked the flowchart, we made a draft of the room to decide where to place the puzzles. We tried our best to make use of what we already have and found out that we still should get rid of something. So we move everything we don't want out of the lounge including the TV, book shelf, big sofa and so on. We have cleared the first room so we can put the tiles inside of it later the next week.

Next week, we are going to check all the locks we need and make the walls and floors to decorate the lounge into a container and a lab. Since some of the puzzles need some kind of writing, we will send what we need to the writing group to see if they can work with it. Also we have to figure out how to make the laser and anti-boom, two physical puzzles. Maybe we can talk about them with their designers to see what do they think is the best way to achieve these puzzles.
We have made a schedule for next week, since professor G need us on Wednesday, we will make most of the room on Wednesday from 4 PM to 9 PM. And we are all free on Sunday from 4 PM to 9 PM as well. We will also work at that time together. In addition, we are going to break into small groups so that we can work on those two physical puzzles independently maybe Tuesday and Thursday.
